TEFL/TESOL Frequently Asked Questions

Professional  Education -  Educational Consulting

Do you provide a TEFL Course online?

We are sorry, but we don’t. We are sure; there is not any other way as let our trainees to practice at a real Thai government school in real school environment face forty (or more) Thai students. That is an invaluable part of our training’s program. You can never get such an experience online.

Why should I take part in your One on One TEFL Course?

The learner has the undivided attention of the teacher. This means more opportunity to engage in real communication, more feedback and better understanding of the learner’s needs. The learner does not need to worry about the problems of large groups – mixed ability, group dynamics, early finishers, late arrivals etc. Their strengths and weaknesses are addressed more consistently and fully without the competition of other students for the teacher’s time.

I am not very good at grammar. Could I learn to teach?

In a word, yes. It is probable that you are quite good at English grammar, meaning you use it well (when you’re careful) in your conversation and writing. What you mean is you have forgotten (or never learned) the terminology of grammar and would also be lost to explain how, why and when you construct sentences the way you do.

I am not an English native speaker, but I can read, write and speak well.

If you are good at English, you certainly do not need to be a native speaker. Some of our own best EFL teachers have come from such countries as The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, India and the Philippines, to name just a few.

Do I need a degree in order to teach, and would the Course help me to get a work permit anyway?

Technically, yes, in some instances you will still need a university degree; these days, of course, it is difficult to be fully accepted into any profession without a degree, in whatever country, and the same appears to be true for Thailand. However, there are some teachers teaching successfully without a degree.

Will you help me find affordable housing?

We provide for our trainees a furnished apartment with air-con and TV. The rent is in the course price included. You pay just the water and electricity consumption, and a refundable deposit.  A laundry service is available in the building; the place is in the city center but quiet and safe. The mansion is just about fifteen minutes by motorbike taxi from our Centre. Please be advised, the accommodation isn’t our business, and we are not responsible for any inconvenience. In the case, you don't like the housing, or you want to book your accommodation by yourself, we will refund you THB 4,000 cash.

Will you help me get a job after the training is finished?

Yes, we will. We may hire you ourselves. We may tell you any information you don’t already know about who’s hiring, what they pay, and what it’s like to work there. You will not, however, need any help from us in finding a job: The teacher shortage in Thailand is enormous! Nevertheless, as our TEFL Course graduate, native speaker of English, with a minimum of a B.A. degree from your country, we give you a GUARANTEE for a full-time ESL teaching job in Thailand! However, we are going to help all of our trainees to find a good teaching job.

Do you pay for my visa?

No, we don’t. We are sorry, but it is impossible for us to manage the visa in your country. You have to pay your own.

Why do I have to pay the $200 in advance?

First when we have got the down payment, we can start to manage the documents that you need for the Thai Embassy in your country.
